Leading oil and gas players sign strategic agreement to accelerate digital transformation

The agreement will see 3t and Honghua collaborating on joint initiatives to introduce new digital technologies into conventional and cyber-based drilling operations across Honghua’s business. They will also look to work together as Honghua diversifies and expands into other environmental and sustainable energy sectors.

Both organisations are well placed to deliver ground-breaking innovations which improve operational efficiencies and boost safety in the oil and gas and renewables sectors.

Honghua is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and China’s largest exporter of conventional land drilling rigs, digital drilling rigs and rig components and accessories. 80% of Honghua’s products are sold to leading global enterprises and major oil-production regions such as North America, Middle East, as well as emerging markets in South America, India, Russia and Africa.

3t Energy Group combines the expertise of advanced simulator developer and manufacturer, Drilling Systems with leading energy sector training provider, AIS Survivex, and software and training technology expert, 3t Transform. The Group develops cutting-edge blended training solutions, which deliver efficiency gains, cost savings, reductions in carbon footprint and ultimately better trained personnel for its clients.

As well as signing the agreement on behalf of the Sichuan Honghua Electric Company, part of the Honghua Group, Wang Jiangyang, Chairman of the Board, performed the official opening ceremony of 3t Energy Group’s new China office in Tianjin’s Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) – the heart of the Chinese oil and gas industry.

Paul Attrill, Vice President of China and MENA regions at 3t Energy Group, said: “Honghua is one of the leading oil and gas manufacturing enterprises in China and we have struck up an excellent working relationship since setting up our base here. We are now looking to collaborate together to introduce new technologies in conventional and cyber based drilling operations and digital transformation projects and are delighted to sign this new strategic partnership agreement to formalise our intent. It was a great honour to welcome President Wang Jiangyang to our new facility to complete the signing of this agreement.”

President Wang Jiangyang from Sichuan Honghua Electric said: “It has been a pleasure to be invited to the official opening of the new 3t office facility in Tianjin, China. The creation of a new technology suite to showcase the simulation and digital transformation technologies is very impressive. In forming this strategic alliance between our two companies we hope to demonstrate our commitment to our principles of corporate social responsibility, to expand our capabilities in renewable energy and contribute to the sustainable development of global energy production.”
